KKT Architects, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer within our Structural Engineering Department. We are looking for a creative, empathetic and passionate Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join a small existing in-house structural team.  Education, health, and non-profit projects make up a large majority of the non-prototypical work, some of that being new build and some being additions to existing buildings.

 The work includes:

• Design structural systems and components of building projects per current code requirements 
• Detail structural elements and connections for BIM technicians’ use
• Review construction drawings for accuracy
• Coordinate with other disciplines during all phases of a project
• Assume responsibility for meeting project deadlines
• Review project submittals and help to solve construction issues
• Perform site inspections during construction and to determine existing conditions
• Know how to access and use existing drawings, site investigation, and technical information as necessary

The successful candidate will have:

• Professional licensure as PE or SE in Oklahoma (minimum) or scheduled testing
• 5 – 10 years experience
• Architectural engineering education and background
• Some design experience with concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood, light gauge steel, pre-engineered metal buildings, additions to existing buildings, structural remediation
• Some experience in all phases of design and construction required for built structures
• A passion for architectural work
• Working knowledge of Revit, Autocad, and structural design programs
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• A desire to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment
• Passion for creating spaces that inspire and elevate people as they heal, learn, live, and grow
