Serve as a rapid improvement team for all locations
Develop new manufacturing technologies to make step change improvements in productivity and cost
Responsibilities:
Work with global locations to generate innovative ideas that will provide opportunities to either reduce manufacturing costs or enhance our products functionality.
Develop implementation plans including cost justifications and RFA generation. Ensure that capital projects are managed within the corporate budget guidelines.
Ensure that new processes are installed to meet all Howmet and regulatory standards for both operation and product reliability.
Work with the global manufacturing footprint to implement newly developed processes at all locations that would benefit from the innovation. This includes developing capital estimates, obtaining funding, and commissioning of the new process.
Lead the PPR process on all new capital projects developed by the team
Design and engineering support for manufacturing:
Mechanical design for tooling and machinery in 3D solid models
Drafting in AutoCAD
CNC programming
Process design and development
Design of experiments
Capability analysis and process improvement
Environment, Health & Safety Requirements:
This position involves some degree of exposure to risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Work is normally performed in an interior work environment. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full Personal Protective Equipment to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor.
This position requires physical activity such as walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
If located at our US facility, employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
