The Defense Resources Management Institute (DRMI) is accepting applications for faculty positions in Decision Analysis, Operations Research, Information Sciences or related field. The DRMI offers graduate-level, team-taught, interdisciplinary executive management programs in defense resources management and analytical decision making for military and civilian officials from all services and DoD components of the United States, and participants from over 170 countries.
DRMI faculty are active teachers and scholars. Successful candidates will demonstrate valuable teaching experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a Ph.D. in decision analysis, operations research, information science or related discipline by the date of the appointment. We expect evidence of scholarly research, and candidates should demonstrate a willingness to pursue research relevant to the Department of Defense. Work experience related to the DoD or other government agencies is strongly preferred. Fluency in a foreign language, particularly Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish, is valuable but not required.
DRMI faculty must teach in an integrated, team-teaching environment in resources management executive education short courses. The ability to teach multicriteria decision making and / or risk and basic data analysis is highly desirable. DRMI faculty must be willing to travel both internationally and domestically. The DRMI does not follow a standard academic calendar and candidates must live in the Monterey, CA, area and be available to teach year-round. The positions will remain open until filled. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum qualifications:
A PhD in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to operations research, decision analysis, or a related field
Evidence of teaching ability to an executive- or professional-level audience
Must currently hold or be eligible for a Secret clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen

The DRMI is an educational institution sponsored and supervised by the Secretary of Defense and located at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California. The faculty of the DRMI are members of the NPS faculty specifically assigned to the DRMI for the purposes of providing graduate-level expertise in the associated academic disciplines. Since 1965, the DRMI has responded to the needs of the Department of Defense, teaching principles, concepts, and applications of defense resources management to U.S. and partner nation students in financial and resources management, and other defense specialties.
