The Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating all quality activities including ISO and QMS to assist the Director of Operations with the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes. Responsible for all aspects of quality assurance. Primarily involves establishing an effective and efficient quality control process. Manage all aspects of product testing and serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, clients, and management regarding quality issues. Work with independent inspectors as the technical liaison.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide quality leadership across all departments, giving input to senior management for product and process improvements.
Provide information and assist in the development of budget forecasts, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and evaluating associated cost information and labor allocations related to quality.
Perform activities related to the Quality Management System including:
Manage the implementation of the Quality Management System across all departments and functions in compliance with ISO 9001 including quality policy, contract review, project execution, document control, process control, procurement, inspection procedures, corrective action plans, and quality system records.
Serve as Management Representative and ensure that the processes needed to retain ISO 9001 certification for the Quality Management System are established, implemented, and maintained.
Plan, direct, or coordinate quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies.
Implement and manage Quality Assurance in all processes. Responsible for generation of system metrics and analyzing metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Work with supply chain team on product validation and company process, documentation, and control.
Coordinate and conduct an annual Management Review meeting with Management staff that includes the requirements of ISO 9001. Provide written meeting notes to management and coordinate the resolution of any resulting quality objectives and action items.
Manage all aspects of external/internal audit programs including ISO registrar and customer audits, the internal audit program, and other inspections.
Coordinate and lead certification audits with ISO 9001 Registrar. Provide an audit report to management and coordinate the resolution of any resulting corrective actions.
Coordinate and conduct an internal audit program that meets the requirements of ISO 9001.
Analyze warranty data, compile warranty statistics, and distribute information in the form of data to various departments.
Coordinate and assist teams with performing all aspects of 8D problem resolution.
Leads/participates in cross-functional projects ensuring that project deliverables comply with quality standards.
Provides quality training and guidance to the organization to ensure effective root cause analysis, development of corrective action plans, and audit preparedness.
Work with Purchasing to improve supplier quality where necessary.
Maintain electronic files of the Quality Manual and Quality Procedures.
Assist with completing customer quality surveys.
Execute the non-conforming process which includes production failures and supplier rejects.
Drive the SCAR, CAPA and Complaint Management process.
Drive the calibration of manufacturing equipment.
Assist the Director of Operations in managing the site-wide ISO 9001 certification efforts by leading and facilitating audits of the quality management system.
A key interface with operations, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, customers, vendors, and third-party compliance partners to ensure quality management system requirements are met.
Develop training materials to continually improve an ISO 9001 certified stie. Evaluate risk to the organization and its customers by auditing product quality plans (PQPs), product design and development records, and other QMS related documented information.
Make recommendations for corrective actions and risk reducing measures based on trends in audit findings.
Oversee the processing of nonconforming material (including customer return) for assigned programs.
Oversee employee training log.
Develop and oversee GMP document control.
Ensure overall company compliance with global directives and laws as they apply to company products and services.

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field or 4-6 years’ equivalent experience.
ASQ Certification a plus.
Trained process and ISO auditor preferred.
Electronics industry background preferred.
Quality certification a plus including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality.
ISO9001 background preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or Higher preferred.
Ability to perform many tasks simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities as needed.
Skilled in MS Excel, Access, Office, and document control software.
Problem solving methodologies such as 8D and PDCA.
Knowledge and application of quality concepts such as Lean, 5S and Six Sigma.
