CIVIL ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING (E.I.T.) needed for small affiliate office of a national engineering consulting firm opening this summer. The firm focuses on inspection and improvement of existing buildings. MEP design experience (or focus of studies) a plus. Other Desirable experiences shall consist of working with multiple types of building materials, building components, project types and the ability to contribute on multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent professional growth opportunity under supervision of a senior professional engineer. This position is focused on field work, but has some office, virtual, and "work from home" time and opportunities. Applicant must be punctual, professional, and self-motivated with a strong drive to learn and expand their knowledge base to meet project deadlines. Projects are fast paced, so the applicant will gain experience on a large variety of buildings, sites, projects and areas of focus. This is a nascent affiliate office with the potential for rapid growth and future opportunities to fill key leadership and management positions. Strong Technical Writing Skills are a must.
Job sites within the Greater Atlanta Area location. This is NOT a "9-5 OFFICE Job." Field work varys from week to week, but all within local commute. Office located in Alpharetta, GA.
Position Open Starting Mid-Summer 2021.
Fully compensated training for approved professional certifications and licensing.
Open to Full-Time 4-Day a Week Schedule (Negotiable).
Performs a variety of tasks to include, but not limited to, the inspection of buildings, industrial systems, equipment and sites for issues, failures and other deficiencies. Works under limited supervision with PE reviewing submitted work. Reviews new construction emplacement for conformance such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. Performs capital cost and replacement cost calculations for capital reserve studies.
Other REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with E.I.T. license. Any Structural Experience (or focus of studies) a plus. Work is 60% Field work on job sites, so applicants must have own vehicle - BUT miles to and from job sites are company compensated.
Additional Salary Information: Salary Negotiable with paybumps for experience, credentialing and licensing.
