Position Summary CURE is seeking candidates for an exceptional opportunity for a Director of BioMedical Equipment and Services at CURE Distribution Center located in Spring Lakes, Michigan. The Director of BioMedical Equipment and Services is responsible for leading the effective operational and administrative oversight of BioMedical equipment and preventative maintenance activities to ensure that each hospital in the network has safe, modern, functional, and reliable medical equipment to execute its mission. Also responsible for the ongoing training and capacity building of network BioMedical personnel. The Director will serve as an advisor to administrative, medical, and clinical staff in the safe use and proper operation of clinical equipment and in developing specifications for the selection of new equipment. They will know and understand patient safety goals and manage safety recalls for all medical equipment throughout the CURE Children's hospital network. This position also contributes to department improvement and development by mentoring their team. Essential Functions And Responsibilities - Lead the multi-year equipment standardization and modernization initiative across the CURE Children’s Hospital network.
- Contribute to the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by ensuring a safe and reliable environment of care for CURE patients at all times, improving effectiveness and efficiency, and maintaining investments.
- Design strategy, structures, and systems to deliver effective technical services training, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting support across the hospital network.
- Develop internal management processes and controls to monitor the work performance of the team to ensure timely completion of workload and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee CMS biomedical equipment asset and inventory management to ensure all expendable and non-expendable property is properly requisitioned, received, reported, and recorded.
- Manage the appropriate planning, coordination, authorization, acquisition, utilization, and disposition of property to manage and maximize the life-cycle of capital assets.
- Provide overall project leadership and management to effectively deliver projects, training, processes, and meetings.
- Provide equipment to the hospital network most cost-effectively and efficiently. Identify opportunities for ongoing standardization and value-based purchasing and partnerships.
- Develop, implement, and manage predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance for biomedical equipment throughout the hospital network to maximize equipment readiness and availability.
- Identify maintenance requirements through supportive interaction with management, engineering, and maintenance teams. Lead, develop, direct activities of maintenance personnel to minimize down-time. Identify root causes of equipment failure and develop action plans to address causes. Assign personnel to respond and complete tasks.
- Collaborate with Hospital Operations, CURE Aid, Finance, and Administration to develop an annual operating budget and activity plan.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, partners, and authorities. Develop a network of internal and external experts that can provide advice and support to the organization.
