Muller Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for its Transportation Team at the project engineer level. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design of Muller’s numerous transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.
Transportation Project Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities
Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects
Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians on various design support tasks
Take ownership of projects from start to finish
Act as design lead for large, multi-discipline projects
Perform field observation work when necessary
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
6+ years of experience in the design of transportation facilities
Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients’ overall project goals
Project design lead experience is a plus
Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus
Required License or Certification:
Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state
Additional Salary Information: This will depend on level and experience.
