As a member of an interdisciplinary design team and under the direction of the Traffic/ITS Department Manager:
Prepare feasibility studies and assessments
Design ITS facilities and prepare design sketches and construction plans using CADD
Prepare engineering reports and contract documents such as specifications, schedules and cost estimates
Visit project sites to investigate conditions
Cooperate and coordinate with other design team members
Supervise and check work of less experienced engineers
Communicate with counterparts in client organizations and regulatory agencies
Review contractor submittals such as working drawings and RFIs
Bachelor of Science in Transportation, Electrical or Civil Engineering or related field
5-10 years of progressive experience in ITS design
PE license in NJ, NY or PA preferred
Experience with ITS standards of NJDOT, PennDOT or NYSDOT and transportation agencies such as the PANYNJ
Experience with AutoCAD or Microstation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Able to read and write engineering reports, correspondence and other business communication in English
Able to communicate engineering concepts and receive direction in English
