Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Mid - Level CAD Technician / Designer to become an integral member of our team in our Tampa, Florida office. Wood is a multi - disciplined engineering, environmental, and construction services consulting firm and is routinely awarded contracts on a regional and national level for the government, commercial, industrial, transportation, water, energy, and mining sectors. Key Responsibilities - Assist engineers and geologists by preparing computer - generated working drawings that are project specific
- Successful candidates must be able to multi - task projects and drawings, being able to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Provide technical drafting support, plot data from direction, and compile engineering data from drawings or field notes
- Create as built or revised designs from existing drawings as requested
- Must be able to regularly perform arithmetic computations using specified formulas
- Solve problems of a routine nature with ample precedent or clearly defined procedures
Skills / Qualifications Role Requirements - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a civil project drafting support role
- Working experience with Civil 3D in large civil earthworks, including volumes and surfaces
- Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Surfer 11, and other drafting / modeling software
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and additional software knowledge depending on the specialty
- Experience with large earthworks at rock mines, or similar a plus
Working Environment / Physical Demands General office physical demands which can include: - The ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend and walk
- The ability to sit for sustained periods of time
- The ability to demonstrate the manual dexterity necessary to operate a keyboard, calculator, and / or other office machine
