Wood Environmental & Infrastructure Solutions’ Chelmsford, MA office is seeking a Junior Civil / Environmental Engineer to support projects involving site civil design including planning, engineering design and permitting, and construction oversight with some support on environmental remediation projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a desire to learn a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine aspects of engineering design work requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles, practices, and techniques commonly employed in the site development process under close supervision
• Participate in planning and scheduling for assigned projects
• Use computer - assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Prepare feasibility studies and other engineering reports under close supervision
• Prepare environmental permit applications and compliance reports supporting industrial stormwater permitting
• Develop erosion and sediment control designs and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for construction sites
• Prepare feasibility studies and final designs for stormwater BMPs or remediation projects
• Support engineering projects with field data collection, analysis and preliminary design
• Support engineering projects with construction oversight and inspection

Skills / Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 1 - 3 years of experience report writing, field assessments, planning, design and permitting
• Engineer - In - Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD / Civil 3D software, Hydro CAD, and Hydra flow a plus
• Demonstrated professional judgment, quality, consistency and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational abilities and flexibility in responsibilities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability / desire to lead tasks
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites in New England Area
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours if required
• Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
• 40 - hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training a plus
