The Environmental Engineering program at Saint Francis University seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position starting August 2019. Candidates must possess an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment in environmental engineering or a closely related engineering field. Industrial experience and professional licensure will be viewed favorably.
The successful candidate will articulate a compelling vision for engaging undergraduate students in experiential-learning both in classroom settings and in professionally oriented extracurricular pursuits. Demonstrated potential to incorporate real-world projects into environmental engineering courses is a must, as is the ability to draw undergraduates into professional development activities such as research, consulting, and engineering service. The ability to lead SFU’s extramurally funded Center for Watershed Research and Service represents one way to satisfy these requirements and applicants will be expected to address potential involvement in the Center within their application materials.
Applicants from all sub-disciplines within environmental engineering will be considered but, given the geographic setting of the institution, candidates with expertise in ecologically engineered systems such as stream/watershed restoration, non-point source runoff control, abandoned mine reclamation, etc. are especially encouraged to apply.
