Manages, coordinates, and directs the quality management system to ensure process and product conformance consistent with established standards and requirements. Manages and facilitates ISO certification efforts for all relevant Betts locations. Supports continuous improvement activities to enhance production and support processes. Represents the organization in a manner consistent with The Betts Way during internal and external communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and report key metric data for Quality Management System performance and Management Review
Analyze QMS performance results to drive continuous improvement
QMS representative for internal and external audits at all applicable Betts locations
Support new product and process development
Manage and coordinate resolution of corrective actions and customer claims
Support customer scorecard performance and overall customer satisfaction
Manage supplier quality performance
Support calibration activities
Manage document and record control
Manage and continually improve relevant metrics and aspect to track and evaluate key processes in the various certified areas of the company. Maintain and track data in support of established metrics.
Manage the Corrective Action Request (CAR), Preventive Action Request (PAR), Customer Complaint (CC) and Return Goods Authorization (RGA) processes.
Manage internal and external ISO audits, represent company as the QMS representative during internal and external audits, create management review reports.
Assist in internal and external audit processes for other divisions and locations operating under ISO standards.
Manage certification of the QMS to new ISO standards appropriate to the relevant business unit.
Interpret quality assurance and ISO philosophy to all personnel in the organization.
Visit and confer with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain evaluate and maintain supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards
Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve quality problems. Manages and reviews customer scorecards.
Manages equipment calibration process and records.
Monitor warranty and customer quality resolution process involving the necessary departments and recommend and support accurate resolution.
Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department and the company as a whole.
Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures with the Engineering and Production Departments through design review and other methods consistent with established standards
Direct workers engaged in inspection, testing, and auditing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Ability to design, write, revise and implement and train quality control programs and operator work instructions to personnel in conjunction with managers.
Confer with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
Discusses and implements the concept of Lean Manufacturing throughout the manufacturing process.
Ensures that all proper documentation and test results for all jobs are filled out and in order.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. Responsible for directing and mentoring quality technicians to facilitate the functions of the Quality team.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in engineering preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data. Familiar with analytical techniques. Cause and effect analysis, X bar & R charting, histograms, etc. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to employees, customers, vendors, management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ability to receive and maintain ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification. The employee must have a valid United States Passport
