Technical Project Managers are registered professionals in the Civil Engineering industry that lead, support, mentor, and coach other dedicated, skilled engineers, planners, landscape architects, or other technical staff from both project and team perspectives. They are responsible for their designs and serve as a senior technical advisor and practice leader within the team. Duties and responsibilities
Project and Client Management
Assist other PM’s and Assistant PM’s in the budget and schedule management of the technical aspects of projects
Fiscal responsibility for the associated technical portions of a project
Work with other teams to share resources (or formulate a resource management sentence) Lead technical aspects of project meetings
Assist in communications with clients
Communicate with other PM’s and Assistant PM’s regularly and proactively about project and technical details; communicate any significant technical challenge, deviation from procedures and metrics, or incidents that occurs on projects
Required qualifications include:
Registration as a Professional in the appropriate field of expertise
Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
7-10 years in Landscape Architecture experience
3+ years in leading teams--including scheduling and budgeting for the group
Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Understand planning and/or design concepts and methods and challenge convention for the benefit of the Department
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to mentor and lead technical staff
Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking
8+ years of experience in the appropriate field of expertise
