The Engineering and Construction Services (ECS) division is currently recruiting for an Engineering Associate I (EAI). This position provides entry-level professional and technical engineering work with the oversight of a registered engineer and technical assistance to higher-level engineering and project management staff.
The individual in this role will be responsible for updating, implementing, and administering the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program for ECS. Washington County's QA/QC Construction program closely follows the Oregon Department of Transportation's Construction Quality Assurance program to ensure quality materials and workmanship is used in the construction of all transportation projects administered by the County. Ideally, candidates for this opening will have experience in QA/QC, be reliable, professional, and have outstanding attention to detail.
Education and Experience A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
An Associate's Degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, surveying, or closely related field; OR
Four (4) years of experience related to transportation projects that included the understanding of general civil engineering theory, principals, and methods with an emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, construction Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), road and bridge construction, and/or design review.

Additional Salary Information: This position has a proposed hourly range from $30.80 to $37.43. Pending final Board approval, this hourly range will be effective July 1, 2018.
