TEACHING AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively teach students both in assigned courses and outside-the-classroom settings (e.g., student research, service learning, field activities and placements), advise students, and carry out other assigned professional responsibilities in support of student learning and success. The academic-year workload for full-time faculty is 24 workload hours and faculty must hold a minimum of five office hours per week on no fewer than three different days. Primary teaching responsibilities will be for undergraduate and/or graduate laboratory-based courses in computer-aided design. Course content includes technical, engineering, and architectural drafting and design. Courses are taught primarily to a combination of applied engineering and technology and engineering education majors. Establish an active research program that involves undergraduate students. Candidates must be willing to teach day, evening and/or weekend classes and conduct classes on and off the Millersville campus through multifaceted teaching strategies for face-to-face classroom delivery and/or web-enhanced or web-based formats. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs. CONTINUING SCHOLARLY GROWTH: Pursue scholarly growth on an ongoing basis, both within and outside the subject discipline, in the academic profession. SERVICE: Provide service on an ongoing basis by contributing professionally to department and university governance, the professional community and/or the community at large, in a participatory, developmental, or advisory capacity. Candidates must be willing to participate in undergraduate- and graduate-level curricular activities including assisting the program faculty in activities associated with maintaining program approval at the state and national levels. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: May include but is not limited to: Supervise student teachers / interns / co-ops / independent studies / individualized instructions / theses / dissertations. Student teachers are supervised in area schools. Other reasonable duties assigned within the faculty member’s field of competence.
