RailPros Field Services has an opening for a Structural Engineer in our Texas office: Dallas/Houston OR Layton, UT. The Structural Engineer will act as lead structures engineer for railroad projects including design, plan set production, design review, construction submittals review, etc. Railroad structures include overpass bridges rated for AASHTO loadings, underpass bridges rated for E-80, retaining walls, unloading pits, and other structures supporting E-80 loadings. The Structural Engineer will provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers and manage projects. This position will be a main point of contact with clients, as well as review and write project proposals and budgets.
This position will supervise immediately or in the future, a junior project engineer
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is largely a sedentary role, however travel to meeting and project site walks will be required.

Based on experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
5-10 years experience
Attention to detail and timely follow through of assigned tasks
Ability to utilize theoretical methodology in reviewing and designing plans
Effectively communicates with executive management, associate engineers, and clients
Demonstrated design software skills including AutoCAD and Microstation
Demonstrated engineering software skills with excel spreadsheets and other programs used for structural engineering calculations
Ability to review, build, and maintain spreadsheets for code compliance and calculations
