Position summary: The Quality Lab Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the daily activities of the Quality lab, which include inspections of manufactured product, inspections of incoming material, and scheduled calibrations and inspections of gages / inspection processes. The position is also responsible for the management of the quality lab technicians to ensure proper coverage across all three shifts and weekends. Statistical tools will be used to track the regular inspections to monitor trends, look for process control, and report lab metrics to management. This position will also be involved in regular process audits and customer returns from an administrative stand point.
Purpose: To assist The M. K. Morse Company in growth of business by maintaining gages, monitoring inspections, and ensuring consistent manufacture of products to increase profit and market share. To sustain quality initiatives such that product quality is consistent.
Direct and participate in day to day hands-on activity of the quality assurance/metallurgy lab. This includes directing a team of lab technicians across 3 shifts.
Responsible for executing gage calibration program.
Work closely with engineering and production on Gage R&R studies.
Use statistical analysis to identify trends and bring attention to areas in need of improvement.
Expand use of non-destructive testing for early detection of non-conforming product.
Must be very assertive in pursuing things the way they need to be and upholding high standards.

Establishes and maintains documentation of approved audit procedures.
Assists in internal product and process audits representing customer interests and needs to assure customer satisfaction.
Assures that customer returned items and customer information is used for corrective action to improve quality in a timely fashion
Holds product from shipment or from continuing through manufacturing if quality problems are detected.
Reports to management on project status.
Associate's degree or higher level college degree required.
Excellent communication, including very good written skills.
Must be well organized and possess strong work ethic.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong leadership/team building skills.
Must have a high energy level and be a self starter.
Experience with statistical tools / analysis
Experience with Gage R&R and gage calibration programs
