General Description: This is a full-time, office position at GMR’s headquarters in Heath, TX. The position falls under the Design Team and reports to the Vice President. The position has daily responsibilities of creating innovative commercial and retail lighting designs to promote energy driven solutions. The incumbent will work on lighting designs for construction plans with data provided from site audits, mock-ups and code compliance reviews. The Lighting Consultant must be able to meet daily deliverable deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy. This position is responsible for working within defined due dates for multiple assigned tasks concurrently and must be able to prioritize as necessary while keeping up with assigned volumes. The Lighting Consultant must be able to efficiently and effectively communicate needed data requirements to field and office personnel in order to ensure responsibilities will be completed in a timely manner.
Specific Duties: •Ability to work in AGi32 to follow a provided process map on preparing and completing lighting designs. •Develop and evaluate photometric layouts using AGI32. •Perform computer generated photometric calculations and illuminating renderings. •Evaluate design idea based on aesthetics, safety, function, serviceability and budget. •Present designs and demonstrate prototypes to clients for approval in a professional manner. •Design custom lighting for unique applications. •Lead training of team members on new products, design techniques and energy codes. •Maintain high level of knowledge on ASHRAE, IESNA guidelines and Title 24. •Understanding of IESNA design guidelines. •Develop relationships with professional organizations to build business. •Perform site lighting audits. •Design controls layouts for interior and exterior projects. •Ability to work with other team members to create and evaluate processes that will improve production and professional quality for lighting designs. •Understanding of construction processes and work flow. •Ability to review and implement state and local jurisdiction ordinances and requirements. •Ability to read Blue Prints and perform take-offs. •Ability to adapt to work in a fast-paced environment and large volume workload while being flexible with deadline changes and priority changes. •Ability to prioritize workload, understand deadlines, and complete projects on time. •Assisting other team members with projects or assignments as needed.

Software Knowledge Preferences: AGi32 and/or Visual Lighting Software, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, REVIT, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer/Chrome, Adobe Acrobat, Nitro PDF Software, online mapping/photograph software.
