Emerging Technologies for Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis, Prevention, Progression Prediction and Treatment
We have immediate openings for 4 post-doctoral researchers on emerging technologies for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) diagnosis, prevention, progression prediction and treatment, including 1) peptide nanoparticles for early detection of Alzheimer’s using blood samples; 2) systems theory for modeling, analysis and prediction of Alzheimer’s progression; and 3) robotic interventions for Alzheimer’s prevention, management and treatment.
This highly interdisciplinary research effort involves 1) novel peptide nanoparticle development and characterization for detection of AD biomarkers using patients’ blood samples; 2) dynamics modeling, optimal estimation and progression prediction of the disease; and 3) development of novel robotic devices to interface with humans for AD prevention, management and potential medical treatment. The research will be conducted in close collaboration with world-class neurosurgeons and leading clinical doctors on memory disorders and neuroscience.
These positions are supported by the Mangurian Foundation, the Center for Brain Health and Performance, and private donors. We strive to contribute significant advances to the society by addressing the grand challenge of Alzheimer’s disease through a highly interdisciplinary engineering and mathematics integrated approach.
