The City of Riverside is recruiting nationally for a highly experienced Deputy Public Works Director – Field Operations. Responsibilities include leadership and advancement of the City’s active transportation program, and complex operational activities such as solid waste, streets, tree and landscape maintenance, animal services, and public parking control that continuously support the quality of life in Riverside. This position is a key member of the Department’s management team that provides day-to-day management for a staff of approximately 148 in a Department with 324 full-time equivalent employees, an adopted FY 2017/18 operating budget of approximately $141.9 million, and a FY 2017/18 CIP budget of $21.4 million.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of increasingly responsible experience related to maintenance management, construction, or engineering of which at least 5 years were in a management/supervisory capacity. Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a professional civil engineer in the State of California is desirable although not required.
